Choosing Beliefs – The Key to New Experience

Let’s explore some basic concepts about Belief Negotiation. First let’s recall the primary idea that “You get what you concentrate on.” and let’s go on to make an equivalency between ‘concentrate on’ and ‘believe’. Beliefs are totally key.

Thus what we are experiencing as ‘reality’ around us and within us is the the result of what we are concentrating on – what we believe. If we concentrate on conflict, we get conflict. If we concentrate on harmony… guess what we get? This means that our reality is always the result of our concentration. Never the cause!

But what is it that shapes and moulds this fantastically powerful concentration of ours? Habits, behavior and beliefs! Where we place our attention and what we concentrate on are hugely influenced by our beliefs about who we are and how the world works. [This is how the whole thing works...]

What we truly believe is faithfully projected, mirrored, and confirmed as ‘real’ all around us in our experienced reality. This is the glory of this physical dimension. We literally see around us and within us the very things be believe to be true. No matter how devoted a being is to getting lost in pure escape and sensation, one cannot help but eventually put ‘two and two’ together and notice that what’s happening around us is all about what we are believing! [And it all changes around us! It’s responsive!]

Something not often talked about is the fact that we are continually moving between beliefs. A belief is a process, not a state or a definition. It is a natural process of transformation that offers rich rewards to the observer because ultimately we begin to realize that we can actualize and experience whatever our preferences are – by choosing beliefs – or choosing the valued influence of a neutral core belief.

No matter how conflicted things might appear on the surface, the actual core belief – which is part of the blueprint of this physical dimension – is always neutral. There is never any judgement involved. “The sky is blue”, “I cry when I’m moved”, “Tomato seeds produce new tomatoes, but it takes a summer.”

It is when we engage a particular choice amongst the many possible influences of a core belief, that we begin to make the judgements about what we prefer, and these end up defining our experience. [this is all to the good by the way, no problem!]

What we think of as ‘real’ is actually our beliefs efficiently creating our reality for us without intruding on our awareness. What we think of as ‘beliefs’ are actually the ideas we are entertaining, often along with their opposites, or at least some ‘devil’s advocate’ aspect arguing the other side of whatever we want to create for ourselves. “Shut up!”, “No, you shut up!”

What we think of as beliefs are actually ideas, potential influences we are investigating and negotiation with, to see if they have what it takes for us to elevate them to be our ‘truths’.

We insistently need to evaluate, without putting too fine a point on any of this, whether or not ANY proposed new belief will offer ourselves the payoffs and outcomes we seek. [it is often clarifying and helpful to understand that we are always creating the perfect reality for ourselves within which to harvest the experiences and feelings we want. So whatever is happening is part of the bigger picture.]

We flirt with these ideas, these influences, trying on first one and then another, we play with half believing each of them in turn, until we make a choice and fully engage some choice and preference. Some chosen influence of a belief, but always with a very specific and well-thought-out intention. [It is very discounting of Self to imagine for even a moment that ANY single thing that happens in our world is not the perfect thing! Let’s look evenly for a moment, at any conceivable opposition to this point of view!]

This is all much more accessible to us consciously, rationally – in broad daylight – than we are giving ourselves credit for. Our five senses are alive to a spectacularly wider bandwidth than we have been taught to perceive, and even this quantum expansion of the scope of our possibilities says nothing about the magic and mysteries of synchronicity, happenstance, or serendipity, if you will. The tendency of the Universe to respond, positively, to assist anyone who sets out to realize their dreams. The thing is not only about you, but it’s tilted in your favor. [Do not look this gift horse in the mouth... Accept with a little grace the fact that you exist, and are 'amongst those present'!]

“The Other Is You!”

When we begin to appreciate the depths of this idea… When we begin to truly engage this idea that we are the centre of our universe, and what we sincerely believe about ourselves – about our world – must become our experienced reality. Well say! This is a very significant thing to understand and act upon!

The average person, equipped with this knowledge could advance him/herself very significantly because in these innocent explorations, we have given ourselves unknowingly the Keys to the Inner Kingdom!
